Abstract

1459657 Darts ELKADART Ltd 2 Dec 1974 52038/74 Heading A6S A dart comprises a pointed metal end 1, a barrel 2, and a stem 4 of cane or fibreglass material, which is screw-threadedly secured to the barrel by means of an adaptor 3 into which the stem 4 is press-fittted and which has a cruciform slot and is hollow at least over the length in which the flights 6 are mounted. The stem 4 is hollowed by a bore extending in from the rearward end, the outer end of the bore being radiused or chamfered to facilitate insertion of the flights. Preferably the outer diameter of the stem 4 in the region of the flights is 3-4 mm.. and the inside diameter about 2 mm. It is said that the gripping pressure is thus exerted over a larger area which results in secure gripping of the flights 6.
