Abstract
145,715. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. June 11, 1919, [Convention date]. Magnetic blow-outs. -The arc formed on breaking an electric circuit is taken on a pair of sparking horns a<3>, b<3> placed between flat semicircular pole-pieces c<5>, c<6> of a blow-out magnet c<3>, c<4>. The shape and disposition of the pole-pieces are designed so as to stretch the are into a semicircular or other curved path while it travels outwards to the ends of the horns. In the form of construction shown, one of the horns a<3> is mounted on the stationary contact A, the other b<3> on the movable contact B which is operated by a straight-pull handle b<4>.
