Abstract

1453651 Shower heads EMCO Ltd 12 July 1974 [3 Aug 1973] 31260/74 Heading B2F A shower head 10 comprises a body 12, a valve member 20 mounted on the body for controlling the discharge, a connector 14 for connecting the body to a source of fluid, having a generally ball-shaped end (32) Fig. 1 (not shown), a clamping collar 16 interlocking with body 12 to prevent relative rotation, and a clamping member 18 clamping the collar with respect to the body, with a first seat (76) on the collar 16, and with a second seat 31 on the body 12 ,disposed in spaced relationship on the ballshaped end. Valve member 20 is engaged with body 12 by a threaded portion (54), and is provided with a plurality of longitudinal passages 66 for the discharge. A valve adjusting hand wheel 24 is retained on body 12 by a ring 42 located in an annular recess (45), and is provided internally with lugs (60). When wheel 24 is rotated the lugs (60) engage with lugs 58 projecting from the valve member 20 to rotate the member 20 and open or close passages 66. Rotating hand wheel 24 does not loosen clamping member 18 because of the interlocking of body 12 with collar 16. This interlocking may be by means of lugs 78 projecting from the collar which interlock with lugs 34 on the body. The body 12, collar 16, clamping member 18 and valve member 20 may be made of a plastics material such as poly-acrylonitrile-butadienestyrene, or nylon.
