Abstract
1452277 Walking sticks ZIMMER ORTHOPAEDIC Ltd 18 Dec 1973 [18 Dec 1972] 58402/72 Heading A4P [Also in Division A5] A walking stick comprises cylindrical tubes 1 and 2, tube 2 being telescopically mounted coaxially in tube 1, a pin 5, which is insertable in any selected pair of a row of pairs of diametrically opposed aligned holes 4 in tube 2 and arranged to engage in diametrically opposed recesses 7 formed in the lower end of tubel to permit substantial displacement of tube 2 outwardly with respect to tube 1, and a sleeve 8 having an internal thread which is screwed on to an external thread 6 on tube 1, the lower end of said sleeve having formed thereon an inward flange 9, which abuts from below ends of the pin projecting from tube 2 so firmly connecting tubes I and 2 together. The pin is of a length greater than the external diameter of tube 2, but no greater than that of tube 1. A hand grip 3 is provided on tube 1.
