Abstract
1451287 Induction heating ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 18 Feb 1974 [19 Feb 1973] 7206/74 Heading H5H An induction furnace has at least one coil 11 and a yoke formed of at least one laminated iron ring 16, 17 in magnetic circuit with a plurality of laminated iron vertical yoke legs 12-15 spaced apart around the furnace and arranged externally of the coil or coils, the ring(s) 16, 17 being coaxial with the coil or coils 11 and defining a low reluctance magnetic circuit linking the legs. Rings 16, 17 have the same internal diameter as the coil and are constructed of abutting or closely spaced segments each consisting of laminations clamped between top and bottom plates (22, 23, Fig. 4 not shown) welded together through vertical intermediate members (24). The rings may be separated from the legs by electrically insulating material (Fig. 3, not shown). The rings may clamp the coil therebetween. The legs are spaced from the coil.
