Abstract

1447789 Sewing machines GUNPO KK 28 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 59931/73 Heading D1G A three thread overedge sewing machine has a fixed fabric guide 10 extended forwardly and rearwardly by movable fabric guide 2, 2" retained in position on the machine bed by permanent magnets in the bed, the stainless steel guides each having a sideways-facing U section edge, air jets 4, 4' to urge a piece of fabric against the guides and a photocell 8 for sensing the presence of a fabric piece to start the sewing. Feeding of the fabric may be aided by a suction tube 5 or a further air jet (16) (Fig. 8, not shown) and a roller conveyor 9.
