Abstract

1,183,599. Knitting-machines. CAMBER INTERNATIONAL (ENGLAND) Ltd. 3 Dec., 1968 [16 Dec., 1967]. No. 57235/67. Heading D1C. Associated with the striping mechanism at each yarn feeding station of a multifeed machine of the form described in Specification 1,128,713 is a yarn holder block 17 through which an aperture extends to be connected to a source of air suction. The block 17 is secured to the striping housing and is positioned to present an opening 17d of the aperture at a position adjacent the drawing line of the heads of the needles. Consequently a withdrawn yarn, caused by rendering a guide inoperative is drawn through the slot into the aperture and held therein by the flow of air after the yarn has been severed by operating a movable blade 14 of a cutter mechanism on the side of the block. A ledge 21 positioned above the slot 17d may guide the yarn after the yarn guide is rendered inoperative. A latch guard 19 is positioned adjacent the block 17 to keep the latches of the needles open.
