1445646 Knitting machines BILLI SpA 9 Sept 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 39236/74 Heading D1C The welt dial of a circular knitting machine has an annular array of saw-like teeth 17 which are bluffed by a fixed profile 19 so that a yarn entrained by the last needle which knits this yarn slides out of the teeth and is not engaged again until immediately before shearing means 15 which in co-operation with the teeth shear the yarn. A welt dial with an associated ring having teeth 17 on its periphery is carried on a driven shaft 11 carrying a member 9. A stationary annular sheet metal member 19 bluffs teeth 17 from 19C to 19B1 and then allows yarn to reengage the teeth to be sheared by means 15.
