Abstract

1433331 Milking apparatus GASCOIGNE GUSH & DENT (AGRICULTURAL) Ltd 18 April 1973 [18 Jan 1972] 2446/72 Heading A1M Vacuum-operated milking apparatus is similar to that described in Specification 1433325 but has motor means attached to the claw 2 to operate the piston valve. This may be an electric motor but is preferably a pneumatic actuator with a bellows or diaphragm. Drop in the milk flow-rate to a predetermined minimum is detected by a sensor 3 which operates, through a control apparatus 5, a valve 6 which connects the pneumatic actuator with a vacuum line 20 via a flexible pipe 7. This operates the piston valve which results in the teat cup cluster being detached from the cow's udder.
