Abstract

1430473 Friction false twisters BARMAG BARMER MACHINENFABRIK AG 22 March 1973 [22 March 1972] 13735/73 Heading DID A friction false twister comprises at least one group of three bodies of revolution 31, 32, 33, with' convex friction surfaces mounted on shafts 24, 25, 26 and at least one additional body of rotation with a friction surface 79, Fig. 5, means being be provided to rotate these bodies selectively in either direction, the additional body being rotated at a different speed from said at least one group, the bodies of rotation on at least two shafts being interchangeable in their sequence of contacting a thread. The shaft 24 is adjustable relative to the remaining shafts by means of a cylindrical cam 59, Fig. 2. The additional body 79 is rotatably mounted on shaft 26 with a belt drive from shaft 24, Fig. 5. An alternative emibodiment, Fig. 4, has three additional bodies 42, 43, 45 mounted on respective shafts a belt driven from shaft 25 via lay shaft 48. Examples with dimensions and friction surface materials are given.
