Abstract

1423612 Incubators DRAGERWERK AG 28 Aug 1973 [25 Aug 1972 8 Jan 1973] 40447/73 Heading A5R [Also in Division F4] A thermally insulated incubator for transporting babies is maintained at a substantially constant temperature by means of a material 4a which can be heated to a desired temperature and the temperature of which remains constant for a substantial time after interruption of the heat supply while the material undergoes a physical or chemical change. The material preferably has a melting point between 30‹C and 40‹C and is initially heated to beyond this melting point, the temperature of the incubator falling to the melting point and remaining thereat as the material crystallises. The material may be housed in a container 4 and an electrical heater 5 for the initial heating may be provided between the container and the wall of the incubator.
