In collapsible paper, cardboard, leather and like light boxes which are made by folding a blank into the form shown in Fig. 8, and are provided with aprons or bracing- members a<3>, a<4>, a<5>, around the mouth of the box and with an attached lid b, a carrying-cord 14 provided with a handle 15 is passed through holes 10 in the bracing-member a<4> and is engaged in slits 11 in the lid. The box is closed by pulling on the cord so that the upper edge b<3> of the lid and the part a<4> are brought into contact as shown in Fig. 9.
