Abstract
1417933 Reciprocating pumps FICHTEL & SACHS AG 17 April 1974 [17 April 1973] 16792/74 Heading F1A A pump comprises a plurality of pistons 5, Fig.1, delivering to an annular outlet channel 4 via ports 6 controlled by a non-return valve assembly 22 comprising arcuate valve plates 7, Fig.7, each controlling a respective port 6 and having recesses 23 at their ends guided on posts 19 secured, e.g. by rivetting or welding, to an annular member 17 which limits the opening movement of the valve plates. Holes 8 are provided for flow through the valve plates 7 when in their open positions. The posts 19 engage in bores in the pump housing and may be of enlarged diameter at their housing ends, Figs.4 and 6 (not shown), so that the valve plates are retained between the enlarged ends and member 17 to facilitate mounting of the valve assembly in the pump. The outlet 9 from channel 4 is located between two of ports 6, the valve assembly either being arranged as shown in Fig.7, with the recesses 23 of two adjacent valve plates defining an opening over outlet 9 and guide posts 19 provided in adjacent holes 8, or as in Figs.8 and 9 (not shown), in which the guide post corresponding to the outlet position is replaced by a hollow slitted bushing (24). The spring-loaded pump pistons 5 are in two axially-spaced banks and engage an eccentric 1 via a ring 27 and a floating bushing 26. The pump cylinders communicate with the pump inlet chamber 10 driving the suction stroke via piston ports 11.
