Abstract
1320242 Revolving cylinder pumps and motors; leakage LINDE AG 9 Oct 1970 [10 Oct 1969] 48036/70 Heading F1A [Also in Division F2] The interior 16 of an axial piston hydraulic pump or motor housing 3, 4 communicates with reversible inlet and outlet ports 11, 12 via passages 13, 19, 17 and 14, 21, 18 respectively, each passage including a one-way valve 20 or 22. The pump or motor has a rotary cylinder block 2 in which pistons 8 are reciprocated by co-operation with a swash plate 10. If ports 11, 12 communicate with low and high pressure lines respectively, then the valve 22 on the high pressure side will be closed. However, if fluid leaks past piston 8 and increases the pressure in the interior 16 to a level above that of the low pressure side then valve 20 will open and permit flow to the low pressure port 11. Thus a predetermined low pressure is maintained in the interior 16. The interior 16 may be pressurized by a feed pump, Fig. 2 (not shown) or gas-loaded pressure vessel, Fig. 3 (not shown).
