Abstract
1453839 Reciprocating pumps LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 25 Jan 1974 [27 April 1973] 20020/73 Heading F1A In a radial piston pump comprising a rotary cylinder block 20 with pistons 26 engaging an eccentric cam ring 27, the block 20 is drivingly connected to the ring by gear teeth 29 to effect rotation thereof. A centrifugal impeller 14 in the pump inlet 11 supplies liquid to chamber 19 with which two pairs of cylinder ports (22), Fig. 3 (not shown), associated with each cylinder communicate during the suction stroke, one pair of the ports communicating with an arcuate outlet port 25 during the discharge stroke. Port 25 is formed in a flange 23 of a bearing 16. Leakage past bearing 17 passes through shaft passage 34 to inlet 11. A chamber containing shaft seals 30, 31 has a drain 32.
