Abstract

1416180 Strippable coatings TOKYO KOSEI KAKEN CO LTD 28 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 59814/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] The surface of an article is temporarily protected by coating with an easily strippable coating composition which comprises 1-40 wt. % (based on the whole composition) of polyvinyl butyral and/or polyvinyl acetate, 0.5-40 wt. % (based on the whole composition) of a polyester plasticiser of a molecular weight of 1000-3000 and 40-95 wt. % (based on the whole composition) of a solvent mixture. In the examples compositions comprising methanol, polyvinyl butyral, polyester plasticizers prepared from adipic acid, propylene glycol, 2- ethylhexanol, butylene glycol, lauric acid, sebacic acid and n-octanol, cyclohexane, bisphenol A, ethanol, polyvinyl acetate, decalin and an ultraviolet absorber are sprayed onto iron plates which have been baking-finished with an amino alkyd resin paint or a thermosetting acrylic resin and dried.
