Abstract

1415466 Tamper-indicating closures JESSEL CO Ltd 12 March 1974 [23 March 1973] 14033/73 Headng B8T A tamper-indicating seal comprises a resilient cap having a flat crown 1 and a depending skirt 2 provided with a circumferential rib 3 for snapping over an external rib 4 on the rim 5 of the opening 6 of a beer keg, the annular corner 10 between the crown 1 and the skirt 2 being reduced in thickness such that removal of the cap results in fracture between the crown 1 and the skirt 2. The skirt 2 has a weakened portion 11, extending obliquely to the plane of the crown 1, and a tab 12, at one side of the portion 11, which is pulled in removing the cap to tear the portion 11 and as much of the reduction 10 as is necessary to remove the cap. The cap is made from a resilient material, e.g. polyethylene.
