Abstract
1413330 Walls BAU-UND MONTAGE-KOMBINAT KOHLE UND ENERGIE KOMBINATSLEITUNG VEB 19 Oct 1972 48217/72 Heading E1W [Also in Division G6] A composite, stressed wall construction, e.g. for a nuclear power station containment building subject to internal pressure, comprises prefabricated cells 2 each of which includes spaced steel plates 4 the space between which contains a structure of plate-interconnecting girders 5, reinforcement elements 6-8 and, cast, in situ on the building site, concrete filling. Each cell carries reference markings 14 which, during assembly at the site, allow proper positioning of the cells by surveying. Curing of the concrete can be effected by passage of steam through conduits therein so as to simulate temperature conditions likely to be experienced in operation of the power station. The cells act as shuttering for the concrete.
