Abstract

1409172 Tampons SALVE SA 1 Feb 1973 [9 March 1972] 5137/73 Heading A5R A tampon comprises a substantially cylindrical body 1 of cotton or similar highly absorbent material having a withdrawal string 2 at one end, said one end being provided with a plastics casing 3 to seal the tampon against leakage and to retain the initial shape of said one end while the remainder of the tampon expands during moisture absorption. The casing 3 may comprise, plastics foil wound round the end of the tampon, and the foil may have an extension which is twisted to provide string 2 or is twisted around a string 2.
