1408528 Jacks A E WALMSLEY 15 Aug 1973 [18 May 1973] 23751/73 Heading B8J A jacking arrangement for a vehicle comprises a sub-frame 3 extending between two longitudinal vehicle chassis members 2 and supporting a scissors type jack 4 actuated by a removable handle 8 and having a convex base plate 6 for engaging the ground, the jack being located beneath the centre of gravity of the vehicle for raising the vehicle bodily off the ground to assist parking or to act as a brake or anti-theft device. The jack may alternatively be of the screw or hydraulic type and power operated. The sub-frame may be a single or pair of channel or girder members.
