Abstract

140,502. Dunlop Rubber Co., and Macbeth, C. Nov. 26, 1918. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-In a vehicle wheel of the type described in Specification 121,757 the spoke members A are inwardly dished or coned, and are integral with a hub portion A‹. Radial slits A<x>, Fig. 2. are provided in the rim portion A<1>. In a modification, Fig. 4, the members A are separate from the rim, and are provided with spherical or beaded outer edges A<1> to engage stops B<1>on the rim. The members A may be separate from a hub portion, as shown in this Figure, or may be integral therewith, and may be provided with abutting portions A<2>. Radial gaps are provided between the spoke members, and the stops B' are discontinuous so that the spokes A may be placed in these gaps and then rotated angularly to enable the parts A' to engage the stops B'.
