Abstract

1404995 Making aerosol containers CROWN CORK & SEAL CO Inc 6 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971 26 July 1972] 51090/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division F1] To relieve pressure in an aerosol dispensing container (see Division F1) score lines are provided on the container bottom, which lines are formed by a punch and an anvil. As shown, a domed bottom portion 22a is first placed between an anvil 54 and a punch 52 to form a central flattened area and score lines with the cross-section of Fig. 9c, and then worked between an anvil 62 and a punch 60 to form the final score lines of Fig. 9e. A similar sequence of steps is also described which results in the formation of a scored central bubble-like region in the concave bottom of the container, Figs. 15 (a-e) (not shown).
