Abstract

1403036 Article-handling apparatus REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 6 Nov 1972 [12 Nov 1971] 51154/72 Heading B8H A machine for transferring an article between a treatment tank 10 and conveyer 3 and vice versa comprises a bow-shaped arm 11 having members (12, 13) at one of its ends for gripping the article, Fig. 2 (not shown), each of the side arms of the arm 11 being pivoted at 14 to a crank arm 15 (only one of which is shown) which are mounted on a common shaft 16 to which is keyed a pinion 18 in meshing engagement with a rack 19 connected to the piston-rod 20 of an hydraulic ram 21, the end of the arm 11 remote from the gripping members being pivotally connected at 25 to a rod 22 which is mounted on a fixed pivot shaft 24. On actuation of the ram 21 the arms 15 are rotated through 180 degrees from their full line to their phantom line positions, the gripping members (12, 13) on the arm 11 describing the path indicated as T. The gripping member (12) is an hydraulic ram having a movable member for clamping a workpiece against a thrust member which is the movable member of a rotary hydraulic ram (13). The stroke of the arms 15 is adjustable by means of stop members 27 (only one shown).
