139,957. Bildt, C. K. E. May 22, 1919. Composite boilers. - In an external producergas furnace for steam generators, having a waterjacketed combustion chamber, the walls of this chamber consist essentially of water-tubes 6 arranged approximately parallel to and touching, one another. In the furnace shown, the ends of' the tube are inserted into headers 7, 10, the latter being of annular form and the gases passing through it to the boiler furnace. Pipes 8, 11 connect the headers respectively to the steam and water spaces of the boiler. At the forward end, alternate tubes 6 are bent inwards to form spaces for the passage of the gases, and of secondary air from ports 19 in the annular chamber 17, to the combustion chamber.
