534,281. Steam boiler furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. Sept. 1, 1939, No. 25052. Convention date, Sept. 22, 1938. [Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XIII] A water-tube boiler has a main furnace 10 containing horizontal water-tubes 12, and separately fired auxiliary furnaces 16, 14 separated from the main furnace by tube walls 70, 80 and containing a superheater 22 and a reheater 60. The gas from the ancilliary furnaces join the gases from the main furnace beyond the water-tubes 12 and pass upwards over economizer tubes 164. The outlet header 34 of the super-heater 22 is connected to the inlet heater 38 of a secondary superheater 40 in the main furnace above the tubes 12. Steam to be reheated flows upwards through sinuous wall tubes 52 connected to the inlet header 56 of the re-heater 60. The three furnaces have a common ashpit 170.
