Abstract

1395807 Gas lighters S T DUPONT 1 Sept 1972 [14 Sept 1971] 40525/72 Headings F4F and F4T A gas lighter comprises a burner b having an outlet O, a flame stabilizing member 9 disposed in the gas stream where it mixes with the surrounding air, said stabilizing member 9 being supported on legs 8 external of the burner b and mounted on a body B of the lighter to allow heat to be dissipated into the body B without flowing through the burner b. The flame stabilizing member may take the form of a single loop or crossed loops of wire, a prism, an inverted cone or a part on a lever controlling the gas outlet, in alternative embodiments.
