Abstract

1395248 Framed joints GRETSCH-UNITAS GmbH BAUBESCHLAGFABRIK 26 Oct 1972 [1 Dec 1971] 49518/72 Heading E1J [Also in Division F2] A corner joint at the ends of two elongate members 1, 2 comprises a piece 3 positioned between and complementary to surfaces of the members at or adjacent their ends. Piece 3 has a rigid core of U-section and a jacket 8 of sealing material. The upper surface of piece 3 is planar and the lower surface stepped to fit against members 2, 1. Member 1 is tubular with an insert 12 and a screw (10, 11) extending through the member 1 and piece 3 enters the end of member 2 and engages nut 15 in bore 14. Rails (17, 18) for sliding wings are provided on member 1 and an abutment strip (25) on member 2. Alternatively piece 3 may be a rigid tube containing a sealing plug.
