Abstract

1394458 Connecting panels HERMANN PIEREN AG 6 Dec 1972 [9 Dec 1971 (2)] 56320/72 Heading E1W [Also in Division F4] A housing for, e.g., airconditioning plant, comprises walls, floor and ceiling made up of composite panels 1, each with metal facing sheets 1a, 1b pressed together at their edges and formed into a peripheral flange 2 spaced from the main body of the panel, adjacent panels having their flanges interconnected and the joints then insulated. The insulation, e.g. 6, may be pre-formed, and is retained in position by a cover strip, e.g. 7, 8, with flanges 7a tucked under the flanges 5a of angle-section connectors 5 employed for interconnecting the panel flnages. The cover strips 8 have stepped ends for interconnection purposes, a plate 10 covering the joint, (Fig 6). Each panel is provided with a pair of slots on one face and four embedded screw sockets 20 on the other for connection purposes, edge reinforcements being provided. Each panel interior comprises a sheet of a hard porous material.
