Abstract

1392794 Tapes for sliding-clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 23 May 1973 [27 May 1972] 24545/73 Heading E2S The stringer tapes 11, 12 of a sliding clasp fastener 10 each has a strip of thermoplastic material 17, 18 laid on the outer marginal portion of the tape, the strip being caused to adhere to the tape at a plurality of narrowly confined discontinuous regions 21, 22 thereof. As shown, the strips are adhered to the tapes along longitudinally spaced lines extending transversely of the tapes. In other embodiment, Figs. 4-6 (not shown) the strips are adhered to the tapes at spots spaced longitudinally of the tapes, at transversely spaced lines extending longitudinally of the tapes and at longitudinally spaced enlargements of a relatively narrow strip respectively. The strips are applied by feeding the tapes and strips beneath a heated toothed pressure sheet, Fig. 3 (not shown). The finished tapes may be affixed to the edges of an opening by heat and pressure.
