138,778. Fairweather, W., (Singer Manufacturing Co.). May 1, 1919. Sewing-machines; feed by presser-feet. - The feed-foot 37 is carried by a bell-crank lever 36 itself pivoted upon a lever 34. Rising and falling movements are imparted to the feed-foot by the lever 36 when oscillated by a lever 53, and feeding movements are given by the lever 34. The lever 53 and the lever 48, which is connected to the lever 34, are mounted on concentric shafts operated by suitable adjustable mechanism. The pivot pin 33 of the lever 34 is carried by the presser-bar, and when, by the movement of the lever 36, the feedfoot is forced on to the work, the reaction is taken by the pin 33 and the presser-foot is lifted.
