Abstract

1384331 Press workable low carbon steel KAWASAKI SEITETSU K K 22 Sept 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 44073/73 Heading C7A Hot rolled steel strip has a ferrite micro-grain size number (Japanese standard) of 7 to 9 and a composition C up to 0À12% N up to 0À01% B up to 0À01% Fe and Mn, S and P the balance The steel may also contain as deoxidizer one or more of Si up to 0À5% Al up to 0À1% Ti up to 0À05% Zr up to 0À05% The content of Mn may be up to 1À2%, S up to 0À03% and P up to 0À03%. To obtain the required grain size the temperature at the entry end of the hot strip finishing mill should be above 950‹C and at the delivery end above the A 3 transformation point. The steel may be formed into motor car bumpers.
