Abstract

1383547 Containers NICOLON NV 27 June 1972 [28 June 1971] 30001/72 Heading B8K A container 1 comprises a tube 2 of flexible material constricted at at least one end around a rigid insert closure member 3, 4 which is narrower in a central area than at at least one end. Both tube ends may be constricted about members 3, 4 by cable, cord or rope 5, 6, as shown, the tube being turned inside out after application of the closure member 3. A thin plastics foil bag 7 may be attached to the closure member 4 which has a longitudinal filling passage 8 closed by a valve 9. The closure member 4 may have a lifting eye (11). The members 3 and 4 may be connected by a member extending through the container. The cords 5, 6 may be replaced by a clamp ring or self gripping sling. In modifications, the base of the container is closed by a constriction of rope (15) after which the container is turned inside out; by a rigid annular ring (18) received in a hem of the material, the aperture (20) so formed being covered by sheet of material (19); by a circular piece of rope or cord (28) received in a hem (26) at some distance from the tube end, which tube end is passed through the aperture formed and tightly constricted by rope (31); or by two concentric annular rings (37, 38) around which the material passes before passing through their central aperture and being constricted by cord (41). The tube may be of olefin fabrics which may be coated with natural or synthetic rubber or PVC, or of reinforced or non-reinforced paper laminates or foils. The closure member may be of wood, plastics, or metal and may be slightly resilient at its outer periphery.
