Abstract

1383497 Cartons PEMBROKE PACKAGING Ltd 2 May 1972 [4 May 1971] 12846/71 Heading B8P A paper board carton of tubular form and having closure flaps 14 at opposite ends has a tubular lining 10 of paper, thermoplastic material, or metal foil or a laminate of these materials and an opening 20 in one wall that is closed by a replaceable lid. In the form shown in Fig. 2 the lid 34 is integral with a rim 35 sealed to the carton panel 21, and may be sealed to the liner portion 12a, by adhesive 31 which may be of the hot melt type. The portion 12a of the lining forms a diaphragm beneath the lid. In another form (Fig. 4) a snap-on type lid is provided. The lids and rims therefor may be thermoformed from P.V.C. polypropylene high density polythene or polystyrene. The liner may be secured to the inside of the carton instead of to the rim of the lid, and if the contents are non-hydroscopic the liner end need not be sealed at all at the top.
