Abstract

1383469 Remote control vehicle rear view mirror DR-ING hcF PORSCHE AG 11 June 1973 [9 June 1972] 27703/73 Heading B7J A remote control rear view vehicle mirror has its housing containing the mirror glass supported on a base 7 mounted exteriorly of a fixed screen 4 of a door and operated by a handle 10 extending interiorly of the screen, the base 7 and handle 10 having a respective part spherical member 13, 12 rigid therewith, a hexagonal cross-section pin 14 having a pointed end 17 and mounted on member 12 extending into a correspondingly shaped opening 15 in member 13, the members 12 and 13 being located in a housing 18 such that movement of handle 10 is transmitted to the mirror housing. Member 13 is clamped between spacer 20 and seat 24 located in collar 25 and a threaded disc 19 engages in the collar to clamp member 12 between itself and spacer 20. A clamping nut 26 threadedly engages collar 25 to mount the mirror in the screen 4. The articulation between members 12, 13 can be frictionally clamped by screwing disc 19 further into collar 25 using openings 32, 33, a datum mark on the housing. Flanges on member 13 abut housing 18 when a force is applied to the mirror housing causing removal thereof from the housing.
