1382427 Nail-treating composition BRITISHAMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 28 Dec 1971 [28 Dec 1971] 30578/71 Addition to 1322935 Heading A5B A composition for treating keratinous tissue, especially nails, is prepared by dispersing in a C 1-6 alcohol or a mixture thereof with water, a salt of a polypeptide derived from collagenous protein. The alcohol is usually ethanol. The composition may also include a filmforming material, e.g. cellulose derivatives, polyvinyl alcohol, alkylated polyvinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl methyl ether/ethyl maleate copolymer, vinyl methyl ether/butyl maleate copolymer, polyvinyl methyl ether, polyethylene glycol, gum arabic, arabino galactan, vinyl acetate/copolymers, acrylic resins, polyvinyl pyrrolidone and vinyl pyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer. The composition may also include poly (phenyl siloxane) as a plasticizer, sorbic acid as a preservative, perfumes and colouring.
