Abstract

1382368 Nail sockets A FISCHER 12 March 1973 [1 April 1972] 11776/73 Addition to 1376481 Heading F2H A fixing device 1 for anchoring in a bore 7 in a concrete roof or ceiling 12 comprises a longitudinally slotted expansible sleeve 5 which is driven over and expanded by an expander member 2 which is first placed in the bore 7, the expander member having a shoulder 6 to limit its penetration into the bore, a wedge portion 3 engageable in the slot 4 of the sleeve and tapering uniformly from the leading end of the expander member 2 to the shoulder 6, and means such as a bore 8 by which items may be attached to the device. A slot 10a on each side of the expander member 2 in alignment with the wedge portion 3 receives an edge of the slot 4 of the sleeve 5 to guide the latter as it is driven over the expander member 2. The thickness of the expander member 2 between the bottoms of the slots 10a equals the thickness of the thin end of the wedge portion 3.
