Abstract
137,633. Lovell, E. Feb. 7, 1919. Folding cots; nursery seats.-A combined safety enclosure, seat, swing, and cot for children comprises a collapsible frame built up of two side frames connected together by transverse cross bars 8, Fig. 1, having bolts and wing nuts enabling the side frames to be folded together when the nuts are loosened. Each side frame has a removable top bar 4 upon which a canvas or mackintosh sheeting cot may be threaded, as shown in Fig. 2, and a longitudinal slotted bar 6 to which the side members 20 of a seat 21 may be fixed by means of clamps 12, 16, connected by a bolt passing through the slot with a nut on the outer side. The upper portions of the side members 20 carry bolts which pass through holes in the upper parts of the clamps 12 and are secured by wing nuts. The lower edges of the members 20 are curved to enable the seat to be used as a rocking chair when it is placed on the ground. For use as a high chair, the chair may be clamped to a stand, Fig. 14, by means of bolts 34a engaging recesses 35 in the side members 20. The stand has a seat 33 so that it may be used independently as a seat, and a folding back 37 may be swung round into the position shown to prevent the chair from rolling backwards on its castors 32. A table 42, Fig. 5, may be fitted to the collapsible frame by means of slots 40 on the uprights.
