Abstract

1374543 Drive for extruder CREUSOT-LOIRE 11 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 57128/72 Heading B5A A drive arrangement for an extruder 3 having at least two extrusion screws 1, 2 comprises at least two hydraulic motors 15, 16 which drive a pair of coaxially mounted gear-wheels 191, 192 engaging respective pinions 4, 5 on the screws 1, 2. The motors 15, 16 may act directly on the gear-wheels 191, 192 or indirectly through reducing gear trains 20, 21 and 26, 27. The motors 15, 16 may be fed by a common variable-displacement pump 17 supplying oil through pipes 18, 19. The screws 1, 2 may rotate in the same or in opposite directions.
