Abstract

1,226,715. Rotary screw extrusion press. O. BRATEN. 23 July, 1969 [31 July, 1968], No. 36967/69. Heading BID. An extrusion press whose two screws 8, 10 rotate in the same direction has a driving system wherein identical gears 16, 18, axially spaced apart along the respective screw shafts 12, 14, both mesh with a single axially extended pinion 20, from which power is transmitted to the screws. This system enables greater power transmission and higher pressures to be achieved than hitherto.
