Abstract
1363990 Reciprocating pumps and motors SUNDSTRAND CORP 23 March 1972 [12 April 1971] 13694/72 Heading F1A [Also in Division G3] In an axial or radial piston, rotary cylinder block pump or motor with adjustable cam means 18 for adjusting the piston stroke, a valve plate 36 engaged by the cylinder block 11 has a control port 42 through which pressure fluid is supplied to the cylinders to bias the cam means to a selected position. For the pump shown, valve plate ports 38, 39 are asymmetrically disposed relative to the cam means tilt axis 19, so that the cam means is normally biased towards its full-stroke position, fluid being supplied to control port 42 to reduce the piston stroke. Alternatively, the cam means may be spring- biased towards its full-stroke position. Control fluid is supplied from the pump delivery line 53 via line 54 and valve 50 which acts to maintain constant output pressure (see Division G3). A solenoid-controlled valve 51 is operated to move the cam means to its minimum stroke position, valve-member 70 moving to the right to connect port 69 of valve 50 to pressure, so that valvemember 55 is held in its right hand position in which it connects control port 42 to pressure.
