Abstract

1359293 Incinerators SOBERS INCINERATORS Ltd 3 Aug 1971 [5 Aug 1970] 37749/70 Heading F4B An incinerator comprises an ash compartment 14, a combustion chamber 16, a fly ash trap 18 and an after-burner assembly 64. A fly ash pan 50 is located within the fly ash trap 18 and has a central funnel 52 which overlies an aperture 48 in a refractory block 46 for the passage of spent gases. A smoke deflector 54 is arranged above the pan 50 such that fly ash impinges against the deflector and falls back into the perimeter well 56. The spent gases pass through a gap 58 to the afterburner assembly 64. An air injection and burner assembly 72, in the form of a central gas supply conduit surrounded by air injector pipes 74, is connected into the lower end of the afterburner. Air feed pipes 36 extend into the ash compartment 14.
