Abstract
1359258 Ventilating vehicle bodies SAAB-SCANIA AB 27 April 1972 [28 April 1971] 19645/72 Heading B7B [Also in Division F4] The ventilating system for a long vehicle, e.g. a coach, having longitudinally extending roof ducts which feed fresh air from air intakes via blowers to the passenger space to create a raised pressure therein, is provided also with longitudinally extending outlet ducts 13 connected to a zone 21 of low pressure generated by the passage of the vehicle through the air. The ducts 13 are arranged in the vehicle floor on either side of the central passage, the ducts being in the tubular support beams for the raised floor areas carrying the seats. The openings into the outlet ducts are placed under the over hanging edges of the raised floor so as to be hidden thereby. Both the inlet and outlet slots may be in the form of slots.
