Abstract

1358949 Hair clippers MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC WORKS Ltd 24 Aug 1972 [26 Aug 1971] 39422/72 Heading B4B A hair clipper of the kind in which a moving blade is reciprocated relative to a fixed blade, has the driving mechanism for the moving blade, the motor and a battery holder joined as a unit which may be assembled with the shaver casing and removed from it as a whole. The casing comprises a handle portion 2 having a screw connection 31 with an upper portion formed in two halves 3, 4, on a longitudinal plane. One of the halves has a separable tip 5 in which are held the blades 36, the movable blade 37 being engaged by a pin 64 of an arm 21 which is reciprocated longitudinally by a motor 8 through gears 17, 18. The gear 18 has a coaxial cam (19), Fig. 5 (not shown), which rotates in an aperture (22) in the arm 21 to give it its motion. An on-off switch 65 is provided. A member 10, 13 with a spring 14 supports the battery.
