Abstract

1,145,725. Dry shavers. SUNBEAM CORP. 17 May, 1967 [28 Nov., 1966], No. 22984/67. Heading B4B. [Also in Division H1] An electric shaver has a housing 12 enclosing an electric motor 13 and a shaving head 25 detachably secured to the housing, the head 25 including a head frame 26 supporting a fixed shearing comb 27, movable shearing cutters 28 driven by the motor in shearing engagement with the comb, switch means 42 supported on the housing to close and open the circuit to the motor, and a movable latch 36 and a fixed abutment 39 on the housing, the switch means including an actuator 49 for moving the latch to detach the head frame from the housing. The actuator 49 is manually slidable by means of a button 49a, the actuator having a first position in which the circuit to the motor is closed, a second position in which the circuit to the motor is open and a third position in which the latch is operated to detach the head frame from the shaver housing. The latch is in the form of a spring, the free end 36b of which is engageable by an extension 49e of the actuator to move it out of engagement with the abutment 39. An indicia plate 52 has a slot 52b through which the actuator button 49a extends. The shaving head also includes a long hair clipper 30 driven by linkage 31 from the motor 13.
