Abstract

1351744 Ventilators ARCHITAL LUXFER Ltd 19 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 18881/70 Heading F4V [Also in Division E1] A wall or roof construction comprises main elongate parallel members 10 supporting the edges of glazing or other panels 11 and a ventilator or opening window including an outer fixed frame and an inner pivotally mounted frame, each pair of adjacent jambs 15, 19 of the frames being formed by channel shaped members open towards one another, sealing elements 40 held by the sides 30 of the members 15 or 19 and engageable with the sides of members 19 or 15, respectively and at least one outer frame member 18, 17 being formed with a channel 24 or a shoulder 22 to engage directly with the edge of an adjacent panel 11. The inner frame pivot axis is horizontal and either central at 6 or along the frame upper edge. The inner frame pivot bearings 43, 44 are made of nylon. In another embodiment (Fig. 6) the jambs (55) of the outer frame also form the main supporting members. The frame members are interconnected by nails or screws received in channels 8, 32.
