Abstract
1348560 Reciprocating pumps HOOVER MFG CO Ltd 17 Oct 1972 [5 Nov 1971] 51541/71 Heading F1A Any fluid which passes above a piston 26, Fig. 1, of a pump for insecticide is returned to the reservoir through passages 27 in a pump cylinder 9 and channels 28 across screw threads of a flange 10 on an outer tube 8. Liquid is drawn up through a filter 14 and a non-return ball valve 13 into tubes 8, 9 and as the piston 26 is depressed is forced up tube 8 and along a passage 16 to a spray nozzle which is attached to a thread 18. Return spring 24 may be replaced by a compression spring below the piston. A handle 5 is provided so that the device may be used in one hand. Tubes 8, 9 are of high impact polythene.
