Abstract

1347100 Electrostatic charging FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 10 Aug 1971 [11 Aug 1970] 37498/71 Heading G2H A sheet comprising a photo-conductive layer 12 on a conductive layer 22 is electrostatically charged by subjecting it to corona discharge 34 of a first polarity; uniformly illuminating it before, during or after the discharge with a lamp 36 so that the charge migrates to the conductive layer 22; and then subjecting it to corona discharge 32 of the opposite polarity. The migrated first discharge encourages deposition of the second discharge. The process is intended for sheets having an insulating backing 21 which makes earthing layer 22 difficult.
