Abstract

1341118 Pressurized dispensing containers COSTER TECNOLOGIE SPECIALI SpA 30 April 1971 [2 May 1970] 13007/71 Heading F1R [Also in Division B8] A valve for delivering metered amounts of pressurized aerosol material from a container comprises a chamber defined by walls 1, 2, 3, apertures 7 in the wall 2, a tube 9 extending from the wall 3, and a cylindrical body 16 surrounding a portion of the tube and having a resiliently deformable edge portion 15 overlapping the apertures, a space defined between the body and the tube being in communication with the chamber via annular groove 17 and passageway 18. A spring biased valve member controls introduction of material to and dispensing of material from the space and the chamber. In operation aerosol material flows via pipe 14, tube 9 and grooves 13 to fill the chamber and space. Depression of the valve member causes flow via the grooves 13 to be terminated and dispensing of the material via aperture 21 and bore 18. Part 23 of the valve member is a tight fit in a blind bore in part 22 of the member. For introduction of gas under pressure into the container a suitable attachment is applied to part 20 of the member which is depressed to permit gas to pass via bore 15, aperture 21, and apertures 7 to displace the portion 15 and thus flow into the container. Gas can also pass via passage 18, the space, and between the portion 15 and wall 2 into the container.
