Abstract
1340900 Finned heat exchanger tubes; convector space heaters S R V GEBELIUS 15 Nov 1971 [2 March 1971] 53006/71 Heading F4S A fin assembly adapted to be positioned on tubing 13 carrying a heating or cooling fluid and to form therewith a convector, comprises parallel spaced-apart rectangular fins 10 to two opposite edges of which are affixed side walls 15, 15<SP>1</SP> each fin being of domed configuration and having therein a flanged opening 11 through which in use, the tubing extends, the flanges 12 of the openings 11 being so dimensioned that a suitable end pressure applied to the fin assembly causes the fins to reverse their domed configuration and the flanges to grip the tubing (Figs. 5 and 6). As shown, protrusions 17 space the fins apart. Each opening 11 opens out to one edge of the fin via a slot 16 such that the fin asembly may be positioned on an existing tube run. Means are described for applying the end pressure to the fin assembly.
