Abstract

1472684 Tubular heat exchangers AUTOBRZDY NARODNI PODNIK 18 Feb 1975 [18 Feb 1974] 6861/75 Heading F4S In a heat exchanger (e.g. a space heating radiator for use in a vehicle) comprising parallel, externally finned tubes 5 extending between end plates 7, adjacent ends of neighbouring tubes are interconnected for fluid flow therethrough by non-metallic (e.g. plastics) connecting duct members 8 having circumferentially ridged spigot portions 10 which are pushed one into each of said tubes and provide a seal therewith. The duct members 8 may have stepped flanges 12 which in use are seated on the adjacent end plate 7 when the member or members are clamped in position by clamping plates 14. Fig. 3 shows an arrangement in which the tubes 5 are connected in series by the duct members 8. In Fig. 4, the duct members 8 serve as headers to connect the tubes 5 in parallel.
